Study Google Ads or CompTIA Network+?

That’s a formidable question because there’s so much information to review for both paths. I just launched a Google Ads campaign for MarcB IT, my newly created Information Technology services outfit. But I’m leaning towards Network+ for the next few weeks to be able to earn another certification

I always say that March, April and May are my three favorite months because they herald the beginning of a new season of warmer weather. Not as warm as June, July and August nor is it necessarily beach weather.

But I like those three months because it signifies the conclusion of winter’s short, snowy and sometimes dismal days. Especially after this year’s winter. I think starting in December 2023 New York City had gone more than 300 days with no snow but that certainly was shattered this winter, and I hope skiers in the Catskills and New England had a more powdery season!

I used to ski quite a bit with a Hell’s Kitchen cousin, traveling as far north one time to Jay’s Peak in Northern Vermont where in the morning of preparing to ski our first run, the meteorologist announced that with the wind chill the temps were -35 degrees!

Cloudy day and great view at Killington Ski Resort, Vermont, New England

I think we did only two runs the entire day, spending most of the day in front of the lodge’s fireplace sipping hot chocolate.

We also skied other Vermont resorts, like Stratton and Killington. But I have to say that despite the towering 3,000+ foot peaks in the Green Mountain State, our best ski trip by far was Camelback Mountain in the Pennsylvania’s Poconos.

That’s because from the moment we left Hell’s Kitchen, at 5:00 AM in the morning, the snow fell heavy consistently until we arrived three hours later at Camelback. It was like skiing out west; fresh powdery conditions which so many East Coast skiers craved.

The snowfall ended one hour later and then magically the sun appeared and there was no sipping hot chocolate in the lodge. Just ski down the mountain, board the lift, and then skied right back down to the base again until 5:00 PM, or thereabouts.

That was a long time ago and I haven’t skied in well, nigh, probably since then.

That’s because I have certifications to pursue now. Oh, yeah, and Google Ads.

But first I’m visiting Portland, Maine next week and to officially start the Spring ’25 travel season, we’re travelling to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania towards the end of the month.

I like going back in time. I mean I was a US History major in college. I actually visited Volgograd, Russia ten years ago, formerly Stalingrad. Some family originates from Eastern Europe and we were visiting and so I made the trip and hired a guide to visit the old battlefield’s main sites. That was one year before hostilities broke out in Eastern Ukraine.

I still enjoy history, and it is more alive when visiting historical sites. But now the focus is computers, computers and computers.
